Jankel are an automotive engineering company based in Surrey. They approached ISN Solutions to help improve the efficiency and performance of file access on their Local Area Network and to provide suggestions on how data could best be accessed by users at home and on the road.

ISN proposed adding new Microsoft Windows 2003 servers on HP Proliant hardware alongside an existing Windows 2000-based server, which would continue to be used for basic file sharing.

The introduction of Microsoft Exchange 2003 meant that calendars could now be shared and contacts centralised for more effective team working. For remote access ISN recommended a system based on Citrix Presentation Server which offered bandwidth-efficient access and the highest levels of security.

The finished solution provides a rationalised data structure and easy version tracking as well as faster access to data, delivering the productivity benefits that Jankel needed.
