ISN don't recommend technology we don't use ourselves. Since most of our servers have now been virtualised, we have reduced the space used from three full height racks to one and a half. The air conditioning no longer struggles to cool the server room and noise levels, especially in summer, are not an issue any more.

Publishing company frees up staff time
Virtualisation simplifies IT infrastructure, reduces cost of support and improves IT service to end users. One of our clients, web publishing company Thomas Technology UK Ltd, used to have six dedicated servers for testing new software features and upgrades before installing on clients' live networks.
Constantly rebuilding these servers for tests burned up a lot of time for Thomas Tech's developers.
Using free virtual server software, they were able to run more than 20 test environments simultaneously on a single physical server. Testing time was cut to days (or even hours) with the result that users were able to get their work done more quickly and developers were freed up to work on cash generating work.
